Slower is often better
My clients often hear me urging them to slow down when returning weights to the starting position, 2-4 seconds is usually ideal when using the right weight. This increases the breakdown of muscle tissue, making the training session harder, but the repair process is what boosts your metabolism.
Why is protein so important?
Eating protein as part of every meal helps build and maintain lean muscle mass. We want to develop lean muscle because it burns more calories than fat does, even at rest. Eat 30 grams of protein per meal, such as a small boneless chicken breast.

Why Drink Green Tea?
Green tea contains a plant compound called ECGC, which promotes fat burning. In one study, people who consumed the equivalent of three to five cups a day for 12 weeks decreased their body weight by 4.6 percent.

Salad Divine
When dining out try a salad off your usual mark. Last night we were celebrating our 10th anniversary at a fabulous Italian restaurant in Encinitas called Trattoria I Trulli. The salad we enjoyed consisted of seared Ahi on fresh greens, onions, walnuts, a little goat cheese and large slices of cantaloupe, of course we accepted heapings of fresh pepper, and it was already tossed lightly in their vinagrette. We split one before our entre but it would make a great lunch or dinner by itself.
